AC Shadows Introduces Unexpected AoT Crossover for Holiday Season
In a unexpected crossover event that breaks usual forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game collaboration between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary additional story content for Shadows players.
Peculiar Questline Disclosed
According to the official release, "An unusual meeting draws characters Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh mission, where whispers of prohibited rituals and terrifying changes echo through the darkness." The narrative presents a "unusually attired woman named Ada" who charges the duo with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a hidden group.
The questline focuses on "bizarre experiments and a fearsome adversary" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.
Recognizable Settings and Metamorphoses
The trailer highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through ages. The teaser ends with a dramatic moment showing a character, probably the prisoner, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.
Special Rewards and Additional Content
Players who successfully complete the adventure will acquire an unique katana together with multiple objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:
- Titan-based costume for Yasuke
- Mikasa attire for Naoe
- Exclusive weapons
- Survey Corps vehicle
Third Free Story Addition
This patch also adds the game's latest complimentary story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This humorous adventure pairs Naoe and Yasuke as they swap characteristic abilities: Naoe debuts a theatrical variation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires subduing stealth takedowns. Faithful to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a original environmental puzzle that may eventually shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

The series earlier showcased a 2020 collaborative story uniting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
